The past few weeks have been a busy time at the Celtic Institute! In addition to holding two events in two different states — “Celtic Tales of the Otherworld” at Scattergood Friends School on 30 October and a Cornish language class at the Pendarvis Historic Site on 6 November — we have also been setting up our Facebook page and Twitter account. Both are now on-line, and are a great way to find out about upcoming workshops, courses, and concerts. We’ll also be posting information about other Celtic cultural events taking place across the Midwest and around the world, as well as news and features relating to the languages, music, art, and literature of the Celtic nations.
Follow Celtic Institute of the Midwest on Twitter (@CelticMidwest) for announcements of upcoming courses and events as well as up-to-the-minute news from all corners of the Celtic world. We’ll also be tweeting a Celtic Word of the Day and other facts about Celtic history, literature, and culture from antiquity to the present day (#Celtic101).
On the Celtic Institute’s Facebook page you’ll find more detailed information about each of our upcoming events. With just a few clicks, you can get directions, let us know you’re planning to attend, and invite friends to come along. It’s also a great place to ask questions about current and future course offerings and connect with other participants.
Our Celtic Institute blog will feature longer posts covering a wide range of subjects, from ancient Celtic mythology to contemporary Celtic music. As we expand our program in 2014, look for articles by and about guest speakers, teachers, and perfomers who will be appearing at Celtic Institute events.
